Accounts at Credential Direct are entirely self-directed, so you are your own broker. We do, however, provide assistance on how to use our trading platform and tools research.

A user ID, login password and a trading password are required to access the trading platform. Once your account application has been accepted, we’ll notify you by email and request that you reply to confirm your account. We’ll then email (or mail) your user ID and passwords. If you did not provide an email address with your application, you can contact us by phone for access.
Your Credential Direct trading account gives you the flexibility to buy stocks, bonds, mutual funds, options, GICs and other money market instruments. We don’t offer commodities or futures trading at this time.
Currently, we don’t offer access to these markets.
Credential Direct is a division of Credential Securities Inc., which is a member of the Canadian Investor Protection Fund (CIPF). Through this CIPF membership, your accounts are protected for up to $1,000,000 of holdings per qualifying account. For the terms of this protection, please visit the CIPF website.

We recommend you use the most recent version of one of the browsers specified above and adjust your setting to ‘Allow Cookies’, with JavaScript enabled and 128-bit encryption.
Once your application is complete, you'll be asked to print, sign and mail in some documents and a personal cheque for $10 ($2,000 for margin and options accounts).
You'll usually receive your User ID and Passwords for the trading site 1-2 business days after we receive all your required documentation.
